It took me a long time to learn where he came from. The little prince, who asked me so many questions, never seemed to hear the ones I asked him. It was from words dropped by chance that, little by little, everything was revealed to me.

我花了好長時候才明白他是從那裡來的。小王子問我很多題目,我有很多迷惑,但是,對我提出的題目,小王子彷彿壓根兒冇有聞聲似的。一點一點的,偶爾間他偶然中透露的一些隻言片語逐步使我搞清了他的來源。比方,當他第一次瞥見我的飛機時(我就不畫出我的飛機了,因為這類丹青對我來講太龐大),他問我道:“這是個甚麼玩意兒呀?”
這時,我俄然有點明白他為甚麼會在這裡,對於他奧秘呈現這個費解的奧妙,我模糊發明瞭一點線索。因而,我間斷了他的發問,迫不及待地問道:“你是從另一個星球上來的嗎?”
“拴住它?多麼奇特的主張啊!”
